No. When you place an order, you are bound by the club’s terms and conditions which include an agreement to provide payment according to the supplier’s criteria – which may be either before, on, or directly after the delivery date.
We do not use this method because although direct debit provides a convenient way for households to spread the cost of their heating oil, it has the drawback of tying customers into a relationship with one supplier. This means that they may not be able to take advantage of the most competitive prices. As we ask several local suppliers to provide their most competitive prices for our group’s orders, the supplier may change on an order by order basis, and so it would not be possible for members to set up a long term payment plan with one particular supplier.
We recommend that members plan for the costs of buying heating oil and budget for their oil use throughout the year by putting money aside to pay for oil deliveries.
